Become more than just part of the team, become a part of the program!
We are always looking for individuals and businesses to help with our program. Whether it is a monetary donation; supplies and resources donation; or time and knowledge donation, we appreciate all the support we can get.
The Integrative Design Experience Laboratory (IDEXlab) incorporates learning objectives from multiple courses in a collaborative, interdisciplinary project environment. Working in a professional office-like setting, students participate in the role of their major to plan, design, build and commission real projects for real clients.
IDEXlab is always looking for community-based design-build projects, partners and supporters. Our students designed and built the Valle Crucis Park Welcome Center and Alleghany County Farmers Market in addition to prototyping Appalachian’s first MOBILab (an energy-independent mobile classroom) and more under the guidance of expert faculty in the Department of Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment. Working with IDEXlab, you’ll gain creative ideas and unique built solutions while providing students with unparalleled experience.
